Final Call for Entries to Leicester’s Got Talent 2016!

Leicester’s premier talent contest returns on Saturday 26th November for an exciting fifth consecutive year, with hopefuls looking to win top prize across three categories  and one lucky contestant taking the title of Leicester Got Talent champion for 2016.

Entries for Leicester’s Got Talent (LGT) can still be made until the 18th November in the categories of Dance, Singing and Other. Budding performers between the ages of 8 to 25 are encouraged to come along and showcase their flair for entertainment. To enter, visit www.leicestersgottalent.com

The competitions overall winner will receive the accolade of being crowned LGT Champion 2016, as well as the top prize of an iPad, with runners up in each individual category competing for £200 worth of vouchers.

LGT not only offers a stage for the city’s young people and their talent, but an opportunity for them to come together in a safe and fun environment. The event also helps to bring communities together in a united celebration of what future generations have to offer to Leicester’s cultural scene, and beyond.

Romail Gulzar, event organiser and Managing Editor of Pukaar News said: “We are very excited to be holding our 5th annual show and are proud to host such a diverse range of talent, not just from the city, but from across the whole of Leicestershire.

“We are really pleased to see so many talented young people apply year after year and are looking forward to seeing what 2016 brings to the stage.”

The show will once again be hosted by ITV Central News reporter, Rajiv Popat. Rajiv said: “It’s a privilege to host Leicester’s Got Talent. I enjoyed it immensely last year. The acts are varied and incredibly passionate about their performances and that is why LGT is such a success. The singing and dancing gets better each year and I can’t wait to see this year’s line-up.”

Sponsored by Anand & Daewoo International and Bond Adams Solicitors, the event will be held at the city centre’s Y Theatre from 11am – 4pm on Saturday 26th November. LGT also works in media partnership with Pukaar News and BBC Radio Leicester.

Run in collaboration with independent UK charity Crimestoppers and Leicestershire Police, LGT also highlights the important work of these two organisations in keeping the city a safe place to life.

Mr Gulzar added: “I would like to thank both Leicestershire Police and Crimestoppers for their continued support with this event and for their commitment to making Leicester safe for all its residents.”
